Patrick McKenna

Patrick is an experienced entrepreneur, investor and business leader. He has co-founded, operated as a senior executive and invested in several highly successful technology companies with exits valued over one billion dollars. He also founded an early stage venture capital firm and is regarded as a leader in building technology companies based outside of Silicon Valley.

As a founder, Patrick has launched four companies and currently serves as Executive Chairman at Facet Wealth, a Baltimore-based FinTech company focused on increasing access to professional comprehensive financial planning for Main Street US households. Previously, he co-founded Palo Alto-based LiveOps that grew to more than 20,000 US home-based workers in over 30 states, NexRep headquartered in Portland, Maine, which engaged over 800 US homebased workers, and Keniks an innovative AdTech company.

As an investor, Patrick founded HighRidge Venture Partners to invest in and advise early stage technology companies on the premise that ‘Talent is Everywhere’ and actively seeks investment opportunities outside of Silicon Valley. The HighRidge portfolio of more 30 companies includes those based in Baltimore to San Francisco and Milwaukee to San Diego.

As a real estate investor, Patrick has actively invested in affordable workforce housing primarily in Oakland, CA resulting in hundreds of much needed housing units added to the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition, Patrick founded One America Works to bring America together through work and investment. OAW is a non-profit organization focused on addressing the geographic economic divide across America by connecting innovative technology companies to new sources of talent located in high potential middle American cities with the goal of adding more cities to the Silicon Valley Growth Playbook.

Previously, Patrick worked in M&A at Morgan Stanley and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a B.S. from the University of Southern California.
